☆Intro to Watercolor
You have no idea what watercolor can do? You think watercolor is just
for kids? Or maybe you think watercolor is intimidating medium?
Take the intro and learn what watercolor is about! New students (first time or second time) are encouraged to take this lessons. (materials are provided for new students but you are welcome to bring your own) Paint and bring beautiful painting home after the lesson! Once (or twice) you take this class, you will have some idea what you want to paint! Have all your materials ready and let's get started! ☆Watercolor lesson & ☆Watercolor / Drawing lesson
For beginner to advanced, anyone who wants to learn and improve skills! (great for students who took the intro lesson) Anything you want to paint, Michiyo will walk you through!
Watercolor/Drawing session is for students who are comfortable working on themselves but want feed back/guidance time to time. You should have ongoing project that you've been working on or bring the new one that you are going to work on. | ☆BYOB Watercolor
Art can connect people. Bring your own drink and socialize with like minded art lovers while you create some master piece! (Bring your own materials or one time materials are sold for $3)
☆Drawing lesson
Drawing is essential/fundamental to any medium. Learn and develop your eyes to see values, shapes and depth. Students will work from still life.
List of materials for drawing class: Different shads of pencils (at least 6H, 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B ) Kneaded eraser Sketchbook of your choice (One heavy weight pad and one light weight-like news print pad are recommended) |
Studio Location:
59E Franklin Street, B9, New York NY, 10013 (Three blocks south of Canal street, between Broadway & Lafayette) There are two entrances to 59 building. Make sure you are at 59 with "E" door which is closer to Broadway. |

Creating your account and prepay is required to book.
*You can cancel/modify your appointment 7 hour prior to your session.(that's the cancellation limit. You will be charged if you cancel or reschedule after this limit)
After you booked your session, you will get confirmation email and a link to modify your schedule.
You may contact Michiyo directly for the last minutes attendance IF there is another student booked the session and there is opening. Call (646) 494-2781 and leave voice message or send text.

Michiyo Fukushima is teaching at her TriBeca Studio and at the New York Academy of Art regularly and at the Art Student League as a guest instructor. Requests for private lessons are accepted. Contact for schedule and rate. Michyo Art Studio offers watercolor classes and drawing classes, aiming to inspire and encourage for people who always wanted to paint but hadn't had opportunity. Unlike big art school, students will receive more personal attention and classes are led by one on one basis.
